This three day course, taught over five weeks - is designed for experienced domestic and commercial electricians looking to expand their skillset and qualifications into the rapidly growing renewable energy sector.

  • What you will study

    During the course, you will receive practical training, on subjects including:

    • How Photovoltaic systems operate
    • The design of PV systems
    • Installation of PV systems
    • Commissioning and handing over to clients
    • Maintenance and fault-finding
  • Entry Requirements

    To enrol on this course, you need to be aged 19 or over and hold one of the following qualifications:

    • N/SVQ Level 3 in Electrical Installation
    • BS 7671: 2018 Requirements for Electrical Installation (18th Edition)
  • Assessment

    At the end of the course, you will undertake a practical, observed assignment, a multiple-choice exam and a written exam

  • Moving Forward

    After completion of this course, you will have up-skilled in your understanding of Solar Photovoltaic technology, expanding job opportunities in green energy and construction. You will have gained a qualification demonstrating your capacity to install environmentally conscious PV systems, and be a good prospective candidate for employers who retrofit older homes on the journey to Net-Zero, as well as fitting PV systems in newer build properties on Greenfield sites.
